Four Leaf Rover Turkey Tail Extract for dogs contains the fruiting body and the mycelium of the mushroom, which has been grown the way nature intended on wood. Your dog deserves Four Leaf Rover's REAL mushrooms complete with all the mushrooms health-supporting properties.

Turkey Tail Turkey tail grows on dead logs all around the world. The Latin name for Turkey Tail is Trametes versicolor or Coriolus versicolor which means "of many colours" - this is because turkey tail has coloured rings that look a lot like the tail of a turkey. While there are many different strains of Trametes, turkey tail is the most interesting to scientists and herbalists as it has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years to help reduce phlegm, clear dampness, increase energy and support the immune system

While some other mushrooms products are mycelium (which is a lab-grown fungus that's only part of a mushroom), Mycelium is grown on grains like oats, sorghum or rice, not on wood where mushrooms would grow in nature. Mycelium products contain significantly lower levels of valuable beta-glucan, the active medicinal compound in mushrooms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is 1/16th level teaspoon? 1/16 tsp is basically the equivalent of a two-finger pinch of the product.

Why are most mushroom products not really mushrooms? Mushrooms contain what's called the "fruiting body" (the part of the mushroom most people would recognize) and "mycelium", the part that grows underground or inside the plant. Mycelium is like the the roots of the mushroom. Nearly all mushroom products are mycelium and not the actual mushroom. They're grown in a lab on sterilized grains (such as rice, sorghum or oats) and ground into a powder. Mycelium products are not rich in beta-glucans like real mushrooms are. Beta-gulcans are the active compounds in mushrooms. Fruiting bodies are full spectrum and also offer more vitamins and minerals. If you're not getting a real mushroom product then your dog is not getting all of the health benefits.

How are Four Leaf Rover Mushrooms grown?: All of our mushrooms are grown on wood, the way nature intended. This ensures that the important medicinal compounds are in the mushrooms. Grown in greenhouses, our mushrooms receive a constant flow of fresh air and water, along with natural sunlight. Every mushroom is tested for chemicals or contamination.

Why are your mushrooms water extracted and not dried: Fruiting bodies require hot water extraction to break down the chitin in the cell walls. Dogs and humans lack the enzyme to do this, so extraction is necessary to get all the nutrients from the fruiting body. Extraction pulls out the beta-glucans. The extraction is then purified and dried into a powder with all the beneficial mushroom parts intact.

Can I give my dog mushrooms more than once a day? If your dog doesn't have any health challenges, once a day should be enough. But if your dog is fighting an illness, you can give mushrooms twice daily.

Can I give Turkey Tail with the Immunity mushroom blend?: While the Immunity 7 mushroom blend contains Turkey Tail mushroom, you can add Turkey Tail once or twice daily for additional immune benefits.

How you you ensure the mushrooms are high quality: Every batch of mushrooms is checked for bacteria, heavy metals and pesticides. The mushroom extracts are then tested for beta-glucan content to make sure the mushrooms are truly medicinal. Four Leaf Rover mushrooms are certified organic, and free from heavy metals and pesticides. No mycelium, no grains and no starch ever.

Suitable for Dogs over 6 months.

CATS (over 6 months) - Four Leaf Rover have stated that Turkey Tail can all be given to cats at half the recommended amount for a small dog, i.e. 1/32th tsp once daily.
